Minas Tirith

Minas Tirith, originally named Minas Anor, became the heavily fortified capital of Gondor in the second half of the Third Age. It was originally built to guard the former capital of Gondor, Osgiliath, from attack from the west, but became the capital when Osgiliath fell into ruin following the Kin-Strife and the Great Plague. It is often referred to as the White City and the City of Kings. The Rohirrim sometimes translated this into their own language as "the Mundburg".



Minas Tirith was surrounded by the Rammas Echor, a large ringwall encircling the Pelennor Fields. This wall was built by Ecthelion II but proved no match for the Orc legions of Mordor. The city itself lies on a hill beneath Mount Mindolluin. The city is divided into seven one-hundred-foot high levels, each surrounded by white walls. The gates connecting the levels do not lay behind one another in a line, but face in different directions. A spur of rock, whose summit is level with the city's uppermost tier, juts out from the front of the city in an easterly direction, dividing all but the first level into two. Finally, within the seventh wall, is the Citadel with its White Tree of Gondor in the Court of the Fountainandthe White Tower, where the surviving Seeing Stones of Anor kept—three hundred feet high, so that its apex is one thousand feet above the plain gleaming when the light shone on it. Upon the saddle between the city and Mindolluin are the Houses of the Dead—tombs of the Kings of Gondor and their Stewards. The main walls of Minas Tirith were of great height and marvellous thickness, made from a material alike to that of the tower of Orthanc: hard, dark, smooth, unbreakable and unconquerable by steel or fire.

*Yrobryn walks through the streets inside Minas Anor, he had just left his home and was heading to the citadel in the 7th level*

<Hey!how are you?> *he asked some people in his way up*

*Yrobryn passes by Doriathel*

<Fellow Captain of Gondor, how are you these days?>*Doriathel asked Yrobryn*

<My friend! I'm alright, some work but everything is fine>*Yrobryn answered*

<I shall let you for yours afairs then>*Doriathel said*

*Yrobryn keeps walking, but before resuming his way to the citadel he enters a tavern*

*Daëron was sited in a chair by the entrance of the tavern, drinking ale. While he was drinking he looked to his left and there he saw Yrobryn, his great friend*

<Yrobryn hello! Come and take a seat!> *said Daëron when he put down his cup*

<Oh! Daëron!> *Yrobryn said surprised*

<Didn't knew you were here> *He said sitting on the other side of the table Daëron was in*

<I just got back from a trip to Ithilien, i noticed strange Orc activities.> *after finishing the sentence he drank more ale*

<And i fear Middle Earth is changing once more> *said Daëron looking outside the tavern*

<Oh!> *Yrobryn said surprised once more*

<We must be careful then, i will send some scouts to confirm the orc activity and measure it, we will then now what to do, thank you for the warning Daëron!> *Yrobryn said to Daëron*

*Daëron finishes his drink and gets up*

<Thank you my friend i hope Middle Earth doesn't fall to darkness again> *Daëron then walks out the Tavern*

*Yrobryn arrives the Citadel in the 7th level of Minas Tirith, he looks to the tree of kings, imagining it falling and burnning*

This can't be! *He thought to himself*

*Doriathel was on the Citadel*

Doriathel! i want to talk to you! *Yrobryn said worried*

I know, i know Daëron told me too *he interrupted*

Gather a scouting party and send them to Ithilien, their orders is to measure the level of activity *Yrobryn said*

Of Course Yrobryn! Noble Captain of Minas Tirith! *Doriathel answered and immediatly gave the orders to send the scouts*

All of a sudden, an horse could be seen comming from Ithilien's direction.
A few minutes later the horse was at the Gates of Minas Tirith, on top of the horse could be noticed a man.

Open the Gates! there is a man on the Horse a Guard shouted not recognising that the man was one of the scouts that left 2 days before with 8 other

As the Gates open some guards pull the horse inside, taking the man out of it

The Dark Tower has risen again! said the man several times with pain in his voice

People around started talking to each other, some begun to freak out, a guard tried to calm down the citizens just before ordering a soldier to transmit the news to Yrobryn and the others Captains of Minas Tirith.

Daëron was taking a walk. When he passed by the gates he heard the scout talking to the guards and he heard what he said.

This can't be happening, Oh no, what i sensed was real! - said Daëron very concerned - What will we do? What will happen to middle earth? Will the Dark forces rise once more?

Suddenly a man comes, running from Osgiliath

Orcs! have attacked Osgiliath! They killed us all!! Te man screamed just before falling dead in the ground right in front of the great gates of Minas Tirith, The people screamed and ran, frightned

A few minutes later Yrobryn is seen riding his horse "Mordo", following him were 20 knights and 10 mounted archers

Fear not! we shall raid them out of our lands! Yrobryn said loud with a tone of nobelity in his voice

The small army crossed the gates heading osgiliath

Yrobryn and Daëron return leading the army of the attack of Osgiliath.

As they enter the gates Yrobryn shouts
We lost Osgiliath, but we shall re-take it soon my friends, today we weep for our families and friends that died there, tommorow we kill those who done that!

The people applaude, scream, cry, shout and weep, for Yrobryn, for the dead...

An elf arrives to Minas Tirith and talks to one guard at the gate:

I am Finwe from Mirkwood and i came because the message of Yrobryn, Lord of Gondor. I want talk to him NOW, its urgent take me to him please!

The guard take Finwe to Yrobryn and they start talking ...

Yrobryn had just got down from his horse when the guard bring Finwe to his presence

Ah! You have came from Mirkwood i guess, i am Yrobryn, captain of Gondor, i bid you welcome fellow warrior, we have just returned from Osgiliath, the orcs rule it now but we intend to retake it soon. Mordor is rising once more, we have that information, i think we must start gathering strong forces to oppose this new menace before it is too late, if it is not already too late...Yrobryn said with "councern" in his expression

Then I will help you to retake Osgiliath, I will order a small force of elves to came here as fast as they can! Said Finwe with bravary

Yes! indeed! we must act Yrobryn said before turning himself to a soldier

You, soldier, gather some scouts, tell them to send message from Minas Tirith to all free people of Gondor: We shall gather in the White City! And protect it against Mordor that is rising once more!Hurry!

The soldier ran, minutes after 10 scouts on horses pass through the gates the separate heading for diferent places of Gondor.

Yrobryn turns to Finwe once more

You can rest here before returning to your afairs, you can stay in the guesthouse if you wish, make yourself at home my friend, i must rest now for a while, have a good night.

Yrobryn turns and walks to his home, as he arrives he goes to his own forge in the backyard, and resumes his work. He was working on a bow, a unique bow made of a piece of wood from the white tree of kings that stands in the last level of Minas Tirith, in the courtyard.
Without finishing it he goes to bed and rests for this night, this bow would have to take much more time to finish

Finwe acepted the invite of Yrobryn and encouraged him

Thank you, my friend. Go and rest good, because tomorrow we got a hard battle and we need to be prepared for all... We are going to do it, we are going to retake Osgiliath, we can´t let the dark forces take it!
WE HAVE TO WIN... Good night, rest in peace. I will rest too, see you.

And goes to the guesthouse

Daëron was sleeping and having a strange dream, where he saw many orcs, elves and man in a battlefield, there were few stading, there were orcs, some trolls, Yrobryn, Finwe and Daëron. Daëron suddenly woke up and leaned forward.

What was that, was it some kind of vision? Does it mean anything? Daëron, at the end of his sentence, laid down again and tried to sleep
